Having been diagnosed with multifocal motor neuropathy in spring 2010, I have been searching for a central place for MMN patients to share experiences. This disease is very rare and so we find ourselves inhabiting nooks and crannies in otherwise excellent sites like the Neurotalk Support Groups (psychcentral.com) or the comments section of the blog at multifocalmotorneuropathy.com [now defunct].
I've been wanting to set up a MMN forum where we can share our stories and hopefully benefit from each others' experiences. As part of this, I will also do a blog [sorry folks, that never happened], but since that's by nature one person doing most of the talking, the bulk of the action should be in conversations here in the forum.
This is my first foray into blogging and forum creation, so please bear with me as we figure this out together. One function in particular that I really appreciate is notifications--that is, you can subscribe to a forum or topic and get an email when new posts appear. To do this you choose Favorites, which now automatically sends an email when there are new posts. For those who are familiar with RSS, feeds are available also. See the How-To topic in this Welcome forum for more information: http://www.mmnforum.com/forum/topic/11
You can reply to this Welcome message, if you like, with a brief introduction to yourself, and perhaps where you are located. Please use the What's Your Story? forum to share your detailed experience: http://www.mmnforum.com/forum/forum/2
Please don't hesitate to email me if you need help figuring anything out, or to make a suggestion: twitchyfirefly at mmnforum.com.
Thanks for coming, and I hope you visit regularly in the future!
